Join us for a generative and revision-focused workshop to prepare your short story for submission to the Futurescapes Academy Anthology.

What is the Anthology Workshop?

This exclusive offering for Academy members is designed to help you take your short fiction piece from idea to polished draft, ready for submission to our annual Futurescapes Anthology. It combines generative writing, collaborative workshopping, and faculty-led feedback over the course of several weeks.

Key Dates

  • May 1 Generative Class #1: Short Fiction Fundamentals

  • May 23 Generative Class #2: Sharpening Character & Theme

  • May 24 – June 9 Revision Period: Optional write-ins, critique groups open, peer review encouraged

  • June 10–11 Workshop Sessions: Small cohorts meet with faculty for live feedback.

  • June 23 – July 31 Final Revision Period: Optional accountability write-ins, checklist + support materials

  • July 25 Final Write-In + Submission Celebration

  • August 1 Final Submission Deadline for the Anthology

How Do I Join?

To participate in the Anthology Workshop, you must be an Academy member at the Lieutenant level ($16/month) or above.

This level gives you access to all of the benefits included in the workshop:

  • Generative classes with faculty

  • A place in a critique cohort

  • Verbal feedback from faculty

  • The chance to submit your story to the 2026 Academy Anthology
